Light of the World! Five Reasons Why Everyone One of Us Needs Jesus to Be Our Light: 1. The Light Is Our Ticket to Salvation

 John. 8:12
12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

John. 1:4
4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.

John 12:35-36
35 So Jesus said to them, “The light is among you for a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you. The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going. 36 While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.”

Psalm 27:1
27 The Lord is my light and my salvation;     whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold[a] of my life;     of whom shall I be afraid?


Exodus 25:37
37 You shall make seven lamps for it. And the lamps shall be setup so as to give light on the space in front of it. 2.The Light offers us fellowship with God and one another 

1 John 1:6-7
6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 
 3. The Light morally transforms and directs our life 

John 3:19-21
19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. 20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. 21 But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.” 
Ephesians 5:8-11
8 for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), 10 and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. 11 Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. 
Matthew 5:14-16
14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that[a] they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. 4. The Light Is Meant to Shine Through Us to Reach the Nations 

Isaiah 49:6b
6b I will make you as a light for the nations,
    that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.” 
Acts 13:47
47 For so the Lord has commanded us, saying,
‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles,
    that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’ 5. The Light of Jesus Will Vanish the Night at Last In Heaven as His Light Will be Our Sight throughout Eternity 

Revelation 22:5
5 And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.
